Alicia Jurney is Of Counsel at Parker Bryan Family law. Alicia is a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist and has represented clients in complex family law cases for more than 17 years. Her family law practice focuses on a wide range of matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, equitable distribution and domestic violence. Alicia has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials, and her appellate experience includes many cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, establishing her as a formidable advocate in both trial and appellate courts.

Her experience includes not only family law but also general civil litigation. Alicia has successfully represented hundreds of clients in both trial and appellate courts, including high-stakes matters involving business valuations, complex child custody issues, will caveats, alienation of affections, and defamation. Her published appellate cases have helped shaped North Carolina jurisprudence.

Alicia was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2007. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Campbell University School of Law, where she was an active member of the Campbell Law Review and a finalist in the Willem C. International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science, with honors, from Wake Forest University, where she studied Political Science, Mandarin Chinese, and founded the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. Currently, she is pursuing her LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

Alicia has been recognized by her peers for her legal skill and professionalism. She has been included in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2016, and she has been named a North Carolina Super Lawyer annually since 2023. Alicia’s exceptional advocacy has also earned her recognition in Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite and a place on the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Power List of Family Law.

In addition to her litigation experience, Alicia is an accomplished speaker and author. She has presented on topics such as trial advocacy, domestic violence, grandparent visitation, and relocation issues in child custody cases at numerous continuing legal education seminars. Her writings on family law have been featured in legal publications, including the Campbell Law Review. Alicia is also the author of a chapter in the Handbook of Children in the Legal System and a c0-author of the equitable distribution chapter in the North Carolina Family Law Critical Cases Book.

Alicia is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Wake County and Tenth Judicial Bar Associations.
