Victory in the North Carolina Court of Appeals

Parker Bryan Family Law is pleased to announce a significant victory in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.  In the case of Sinnett v. Sinnett, Alicia Jurney successfully represented the appellee (father) in defending a trial court order that modified the existing custody arrangement to better meet the needs of the parties’ children.

The Court of Appeals affirmed the modification order, rejecting the appellant’s (mother’s) challenges on constitutional grounds and whether there had been a substantial change in circumstances.  The opinion highlights the trial court’s detailed findings regarding positive changes in circumstances since entry of the initial custody order, including the father’s remarriage, the father’s increased availability to spend time with the children, and new educational opportunities for the children, all of which supported the custody adjustment.

This outcome underscores our firm’s commitment to advocating for families and supporting custody decisions that prioritize the welfare of children.  If you are involved in a child custody dispute or need assistance with family law issues at the trial or appellate level, contact Parker Bryan Family Law today for a confidential consultation.
